Breathwork

The holiest Name in the world, the Name of the Creator, is the sound of your own breathing.” Rabbi Lawrence Kushner

I spent much of my adult life “working” on myself. It was not without some reward, and I suppose I had to go through it to arrive where I am now, but it was not fun and I don’t recommend it. Looking back, I realize I unconsciously thought that relief was available, just not for me. How wonderful it is to be wrong sometimes.

I have found breathwork to be a profound yet gentle, reliable way to remove blocks, gain insight, connect more deeply, and receive energy in the parts of life that feel stagnant or numb. It does require some effort on our part (it’s called breathwork for a reason). But there is a world of difference between allowing the breath to do the heavy lifting and working on ourselves by ourselves.

I offer a style of breathwork called “conscious connected breath” and incorporate other breath patterns from time to time based on your needs. Sessions take place in person for about 1.5 hours. This includes time for listening and preparation, the breathwork itself which is usually done lying down with music and eye shades, and time for sharing and integration. I can also help you integrate functional breathwork into your daily or weekly practice.

Though former me would have rolled her eyes, greater joy, embodied awareness, and a clearer mind are a. That it can be found in something as simple as the breath is a hallmark of a grace-filled and loving universe. Who’d have thunk.
